For over a decade, Blue Telescope has collaborated with the Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum, developing 17 interactive media experiences to help visitors immerse themselves in the ship's history.
Most recently, Blue Telescope created The Growler Interactive. By scanning the entire inside of the Growler to volumetric video, Blue Telescope was able to create a dimensional experience for all visitors to learn what it was like to go to sea in the iconic submarine.
The Intrepid Interactive Deck Explorer uses a similar tabletop format to let visitors navigate a virtual map of the ship. Other exhibits include an Interactive Projection Globe showing the ship’s ports-of-call, a series of virtual yearbook kiosks, and touchscreen stations presenting ephemera from life on-board the ship.
The Intrepid Interactive Timeline is a multi-user tabletop display featuring an animated timeline of significant events in USS Intrepid and US naval history. Users explore any of seventy events, ranging from the creation of the earliest aircraft carriers to the Intrepid’s recent restoration, and watch them come to life through photos, videos, and large-scale animations.
